G&SWR Album

The G&SWR Association is pleased to announce the publication of the ‘G&SWR Album.’ This is a major work for our Association, which has taken considerable time and effort to prepare and bring to fruition. As such, it should stand as an important reference work for our chosen railway for many years to come.

The ‘G&SWR Album’ consists of 40 pages @ A4 size plus a card cover. There is a substantive text, along with black & white photographs, an illustrative map, and extensive captions to the photographs. The front and rear covers, along with both inside faces, are in colour and include a view of St.Enoch Station prior to its expansion, plus colour illustrations of the Company’s luxury hotels at St.Enoch, Ayr, Dumfries and Turnberry.

The main body of the publication consists of a narrative text, along with 70 black & white photographs, each of which has an explanatory caption. The publication also surveys the locomotives, carriages, goods rolling stock and steamers, along with photographs of both assorted stations and the ‘personalities’ who made the Company what it was.

As such, this publication should stand as a useful guide upon our chosen railway for many years to com.
